Biography
Richard Toohey is a Ph.D. student in atmospheric science, having recently completed his B.S. and M.S. in physics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Richard has worked as a reactor operator on a fast-attack submarine during his time in the U.S. Navy. More recently, Richard has been working with standards-development organizations such as NIST, X9, and IEEE to create a robust set of standards around post-quantum cryptography and quantum networking. He has a broad set of research interests that generally focus on understanding mechanisms of climate variability and climate change, land-atmosphere interactions, and global and regional impacts of climate change.
