2017 AGU Outstanding Student Presentation Awards announced

Top 5% recognized by the American Geophysical Union.

From the 2017 AGU Fall Meeting, the following students received Outstanding Student Presentation Awards. Civil and Environmental Engineering Ph.D. student, Ignaciao Sepulveda worked with Profs. Phil Liu, Mirceau Grigoriu and Matt Pritchard to complete his award winning paper, "Tsunami hazard assessments with consideration of uncertain earthquakes characteristics", in the Natural Hazards category.

In the Seismology section, recent EAS alumni, Tim Clements (currently a Ph.D. student at Harvard) won an AGU Outstanding Student Presentation Award for his work, "Observing drought-induced groundwater depletion in California with seismic noise," with co-author Prof. Marine Denolle of Harvard. Clements worked closely with Prof. Katie Keranen in his final year as a Cornell undergraduate.
