EAS and CU Reunion 2018

Professor Matt Pritchard spoke to a standing room only crowd of Cornell alumni who heard a special lecture, "Why is Ithaca gorges, geomorphology of Ithaca and the Finger Lakes Region," which tied into the release of  the late Professor Emeritus Art Bloom's book, "Gorges History: Landscapes and Geology of the Finger LakeRegion."

Wayne Pennington, M.S. Art & Sci. '76, retires from his post at Michigan Tech. Pennington, a professor of geophysics and dean of engineering stepped down at the end of June, however, continues on in his science.

For novel use of observations, theory, and modeling to advance understanding of tropical convection and its interactions with the large-scale circulation

 Jasper Kok, former EAS postdoc (Mahowald), received the Henry G. Houghton Ward - Early Career For novel approaches to studying the physics of dust emissions into the atmosphere and the interactions of dust aerosols with Earth’s climate system and beyond
