SES majors will participate in CORALS Apprenticeship for Lynch Scholars

The Cornell Ocean Research Apprenticeship for Lynch Scholars (CORALS) is a 9 week, 15 credit off-campus opportunity at Friday Harbor Marine Laboratories on San Juan Island, Washington. The students work with faculty in multidisciplinary teams to solve problems through field research. Cornell Professors Drew Harvell and Chuck Greene are integral to the program. FHL is a large marine lab run by the University of Washington and Center of Excellence for Ocean Acidification and is developing as a center for marine biodiversity.

Science of Earth Systems undergraduates who will participate in the Spring 2016 program are: Ian Breslow, '17 and Phoebe Dawkins, '16 of CALS, and Sophie Fruchter, '16 from Arts and Sciences. Other Cornell students selected for the apprenticeship program are CALS Marine Biology majors Jonah Morreale, '17, Maddy Rich, '17, and Miranda Winningham, '16.
