Mahowald elected Fellow of the American Geophysical Union
Professor Natalie Mahowald has been elected as a Class of 2013 Fellow of the American Geophysical Union. This is a prestigious honor for members of AGU and the scientific community, with only 1% of the membership receiving this distinction each year. As described by the organization, "the Fellows program recognizes AGU members who have made exceptional contributions to Earth and space sciences as valued by their peers." Mahowald, whose primary affiliation is biogeosciences, was nominated by the Atmospheric Sciences section "for fundamental contributions to our understanding of mineral aerosol impacts on global biogeochemical cycles and the climate system".
