Congratulations to Suzanne Mahlburg Kay on her election to the position of Vice President (President-Elect) and Councilor of the Geological Society of America. Kay's election by members of the Society is a testament to her reputation in the field of geological sciences. She will serve a three-year term, becoming president in July 2013 when GSA celebrates its 125th anniversary. The Geological Society of America was formed and headquartered in New York in 1888. The late EAS Emeritus Professor, Jack E. Oliver also served as the GSA president in the mid 1980s. The Geological Society of America (GSA) is a global professional society with a growing membership of more than 24,700 individuals in 103 countries.
