Applying for Admission

Applicants for admission to the Graduate School should hold a baccalaureate degree granted by a faculty or university of recognized standing or have completed a degree or diploma program equivalent to the baccalaureate degree program at Cornell, have adequate preparation for graduate study in the chosen Field, and present evidence of promise in advanced study and research.  The GRE exam is required for applicants to the field of Atmospheric Science.  For non-native English speakers the Cornell Graduate School requires minimum TOEFL scores of 20 (writing), 15 (listening), 20 (reading), and 22 (speaking).  Exemption from the TOEFL exam is granted for applicants who have studied in full-time status for at least two academic years within the last five years in the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand, or with English language instruction in Canada or South Africa.
