Northeast Regional Climate Center(NRCC)
Established in 1983, the Northeast Regional Climate Center (NRCC) is located in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Cornell University. It serves the 12-state region that includes: Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and West Virginia. Major funding is provided by a grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The Centers staff works cooperatively with the National Climatic Data Center, state climate offices and other interested scientists in the Northeast to acquire and disseminate accurate, up-to-date climate data and information.
New York State Water Resources Institute (NYS WRI)
The New York Water Resources Institute(WRI) was established by federal law in 1964 as a member of the national network of Water Resources Research Institutes. Under this federal program there is an Institute in each state. In 1986, the New York State legislature established WRI under state law as the New York State Water Resources Institute at Cornell University. At Cornell, it serves as a university-wide Institute to address problems of water resources through research, education and outreach.
The Paleontological Research Institution
PRI has a world-class collection, containing everything from dinosaur eggs of China to one of the most comprehensive Paleozoic trilobite, brachipod, coral and crinoid collections in the United States.
