The 25th birthday of Snee Hall's dedication was held on Wed., October 14, 2009 at 3:30 PM in the Snee Hall Atrium.

Many were on hand to hear stories told by our department's Emeritus Faculty, including some students from past years. We were honored to have Edmund T. Cranch, former Dean of Engineering and active member of the Cornell Association of Professors Emeriti (CAPE) attend the event. Cranch told of his visit many years ago to the home of William and Katherine Snee, benefactors of Snee Hall.
Also on hand for the celebration was Professor and President Emeritus, Frank H.T. Rhodes, as well as the current Interim Dean of Engineering, Chris Ober, who gave an impromptu speech to the crowd. Amy Ritter, Director of Facilities for the College of Engineering was also present for the celebration.

The Fall 2009 INSTOC Symposium titled: Why Mountains? Tales and Timescales of their Birth and Death was held Saturday, September 12, 2009 in Snee Hall.

- 2009 EAS Commencement was held on Sunday, May 24. Diplomas were awarded to 15 undergraduate Science of Earth Systems students and 6 graduate Geological Sciences students in Snee Hall. Bradfield Hall held a separate commencement ceremony for Atmospheric Sciences where 16 students received their Bachelor of Science and one student received his Master of Science.
