Two Cornell EAS alums were recently part of the new PBS Nature show featuring recent research on Kilauea volcano, Hawaii. Matt Patrick '99, a former undergraduate in EAS and Ben Brooks '00, who worked with Prof. Rick Allmendinger to earn his PhD in Geological Sciences, were two of the show's stars. New photography on magma flows both on land and underwater were shown.
Alan Sealls, '85 received the American Meteorological Society's Award For Excellence in Science Reporting by a Broadcast Meteorologist. The AMS website includes his recent citation.
Bill White was honored with a session and dinner in San Francisco during AGU week. Along with Bob and Sue Kay, American and European colleagues treated Bill to dinner.
