Leon Nguyen (Atmos. Sci '09) has been awarded the American Meteorological Society (AMS) Macelwane Award for an outstanding undergraduate research paper.

Naomi Kirk-Lawlor and Sander Hunter were both recipients of a 2009 NSF Graduate Research Fellowship award.  Hunter also received a Coleman Fellowship.

In April 2009, Tiffany Tchakirides was invited to present her research at a 3D Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Management in Honduras Workshop in Copan, Honduras.

SES Undergrad Molly Moynihan was awarded the Hollings Scholarship from NOAA.

Geological Sciences Grad Student Will Guerra was recently awarded a LacCore Visiting Graduate Student award for his selected proposal which includes travel and lodging to and from Minnesota.

Atmospheric Sciences Undergrad Eowyn Connolly-Brown '10 is a 2009 Goldwater Fellowship winner.
